Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cardinal Stritch University Accredited?

Yes. Stritch is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) and is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Regional accreditation (NCA) is the highest level of academic accreditation a college or university can obtain and is recognized throughout the United States. ACBSP is the leading specialized accreditation association for business education that supports, celebrates, and rewards teaching excellence.

How does the schedule and learning format differ from other programs?

Specifically designed for working adult students, the convenient, accelerated programs (one night per week, five – eight week courses) place much of the learning responsibility with the student. The College of Business and Management believes that students learn as much from their experiences and those of their classmates as they do from textbooks and lectures, hence the format of small classes, discussions, project teams, and hands-on, practical learning. In addition to four hours each week in class, time spent each week outside of class will depend on your degree program and personal study habits. Unlike traditional classrooms, you get to choose the hours and location of your participation both with regard to individual and team assignments. Students move through the program in small groups, with other working adults. In addition to a one night per week format, select programs are offered online!

What financial aid programs are available?

Stritch students can take advantage of several financial programs. Upfront, adult financial aid, easy payment plans and military discounts are available for those who thought they could not afford school. Each student works with an Enrollment Representative to aid them in this process and to determine the best form of financing.

Do I have to attend classes at Cardinal Stritch University’s main campus?

Accelerated business and management programs are taught from many classroom sites throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. This includes Milwaukee, Brookfield, Kenosha, Madison, Beloit, Wausau, and Reedsburg in WI and Edina, Plymouth, Woodbury, Rochester, and Blaine in MN. Select programs are offered online!

Does Cardinal Stritch University accept transfer credits?

Stritch graciously grants credits for approved courses with a satisfactory grade of C- or above taken at an approved college or university (regionally accredited). Students also benefit from a liberal policy of awarding credits for various non-accredited or technical courses, successful completion of approved exams (CLEP / Dantes), and Credit for Prior Learning which consists of reviewing student’s life and work experiences (examples include but are not limited to licenses, certificates, and military experience).

What are the admission requirements?

Decisions for admission are based on previous academic records and 2-3 years of qualified work experience. Stritch seeks students who are mature and highly motivated. Undergraduate programs require a high school diploma or GED. Previous college credits are not required for admission. Graduate programs require that students possess an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

What is my next step?

Each student works closely with an Enrollment Representative in their location to determine if Stritch is a good fit. Stritch attempts to make the enrollment process as simple as possible for returning adult students. Students are required to complete an application and submit a $20 application fee for acceptance into the University. Once all required documents and transcripts are received, an admission decision can take as little as a few days. Classes are forming now!
